Accepting non-peace

How to find peace when nothing is peaceful 😎

Yesterday I suggested that “peace of mind” is a bit of a misnomer, because of this equation I made up:

💡
The nature of the mind = Not-peace.

It seemed to resonate, as I’ve had a fair few responses from it, from you.

Then, almost on cue, this quote from Eckhart Tolle’s book The Power of Now cropped up on my Twitter timeline:

“Forgive yourself for not being at peace. The moment you completely accept your non-peace, your non-peace gets transmuted into peace. Anything you accept fully will get you there, will take you into peace. This is the miracle of surrender.”
~ Eckhart Tolle

😙👌🏻

Perfection.

Now, if the nature of the mind is not-peace, and he’s saying accept non-peace, then he’s saying accept the nature of the mind; how it’s responding to stuff.

Which is the simplicity of the 3 Principles understanding.

Whatever situation you face—at work, at home, in your relationships, on your own, in your head—your mind is going to have a lot to say about it.

You might also notice that your mind is going to have a lot to say about what it’s got to say about the situation.

And, let’s face it people, it’s probably going to have a lot to say about all the stuff it’s saying about what it has to say about the situation.

… and so on …

♾️

The key isn’t to accept the situation (because it’s not the situation you’re experiencing), it’s to accept the mind’s ‘non-peace’ response to the situation.

And hey presto: peace.

p.s. told you it was simple.

You’re not going to get peace of mind
It’s impossible. Here’s why 😘
