A fact of life that will immediately improve yours

Didn't I say something at some point about awareness being key?? 😉

Do you know the single biggest practical difference the Innate Health understanding has made to my life?

It's moods. Knowing how they work.

It's seeing this:

It's from Richard Carlson's timeless classic Don't Sweat the Small Stuff

That last sentence is the show-stopper:

“Remember, it’s not your life that has suddenly changed for the worse in the past hour; it’s your mood.” ~ Richard Carlson

🤯

Oh my word, is that important to see?!!

Because when we’re in a low mood, it's so easy to take it really seriously; to listen to what the mind is saying in these moments; to try and do its bidding so that we can ‘fix the problem’.

It's one of life's cruellest jokes that when we're least equipped to deal with a situation—up in our heads, disconnected, feeling all urgent, hijacked by our emotions—it seems like that's when we should roll up our sleeves and get to the serious business of changing our lives ‘in order to’ feel better!!

🤦🏻‍♂️

But of course it doesn't work like that.

⚠️
Our circumstances don't create our mood.
Our mood dictates the ‘reality’ we experience in that moment.

Getting your sleeves rolled up in a bad mood and ‘doing something’ just to satisfy ego's demands means it might shut up for a minute or two (allowing you to feel marginally better), but you're just building a rod for your back.

Because that very same ego is only going to come back stronger, demanding more in order to be appeased next time!

😫

(Very silly indeed, dancing to the tune of something that's not even real.)

Look, I'm not above any of this and I get caught up in moods, just like the rest of my fellow humans. (Ask my housemates.)

The only thing you have to do is see how they work; to recognise that they’re a fact of life and that they sort themselves out, if we stop making them worse by trying to fix them.

So why not keep an eye out for this happening today? And when you catch yourself, back off… and watch your life improve, immediately.

p.s. Of course this is all much easier to see playing out in other people, so see if you can spot your partner or your kids, your family or colleagues getting caught up in a low mood, before you turn the mirror on your self. (Oh, and if you value your relationship with that other person, keep it to yourself when you do see it! 😂)
