I ran an online group session last night, for the Daily Reminders Premium ๐ gang.
I invite questions and sticking points, we get together (i.e. show up), we get quiet (i.e. stay present), and we stay open, to see what answers arise, it's great.
(These are the three necessary ingredients for change.)
Trouble is, I was running it on a school night, my other job is super-busy at the moment, and I got a load of questions โ more than I could handle, really.
I also knew I didn't have much time to research helpful readings, or even collate them all into one place, as they kept dropping into my inbox.
And the Giles Ego Construct ๐ฆ started to worry.
You see, it was labouring under the impression that it had to answer all the questions, from what it already knew. Like it was a quiz that was going to be marked or something.

But experience has shown, time and time again, that the answers to our problems don't come from the intellect. They come from deep within us; from life itself, when we show up, present and open. (It's those 3 ingredients again.)
And about half an hour before we were due to go live, as I was organising the office for the webinar, and having a good old fret about how overwhelmed I felt, I suddenly remembered this.
All my attention was on thought โ on the worries of the mind as it got its knickers in a twist about the prospect of doing something I wasn't even going to ask it to do!
I felt a little silly, truth be told.
But I didn't mind, because all of a sudden, it no longer made sense to have my focus on the overwhelmed thinking, and I relaxed back into real life instead.
The overwhelmed feeling disappeared just like that.

Simply by realising what I was doing, and attending to what was real, instead of what was fiction.
Made me wonder why I don't do that more often.
