Here's a simple metaphor for you.
Imagine you're driving. To move forward, you need to step on the accelerator.
And to slow down, you take your foot off the accelerator and optionally (depending on how quickly you need to slow down), you use that same foot to apply pressure to the brakes.
(I'm talking about combustion engine vehicles here, but I'm assuming it's the same with electric.)
What you wouldn't do:
(I checked online, and there aren't even any real driving stunts that get performed by doing this – you're just going to wreck your transmission, or stall.)
So, here we go…
WHAT IF… life itself is the accelerator?
You don't have to press down on anything for life to continue, because ‘just going’ one of its main features! (Universal Mind, in 3 Principles terms, or the energy of life.)
Life needs no help – your heart beats without your intervention, you breathe without trying, wounds heal, your pupils constrict and dilate when they have to, food gets digested, the list goes on!
But it's more than that, isn' it? Because good ideas just come to you. Creativity courses through you when you're in flow, love arises, feelings of connection are just there, authentic desires pull you in a direction… all without your input.
Let me know if you think I'm wide of the mark here, but I don't think you do any of that stuff – that's what life feels like, when we're not getting in the way of it.
It's the accelerator. Life's pushing it down. And it never takes its foot off, until the end of your journey as a human.
And WHAT IF… our Thought System 📦 is the brake?
We get insecure and the mind starts bleating, making out like it's in charge of our destiny, because it doesn't know anything of life.
And while the mind might be on board with not having to consciously breathe, and heal, and digest – when it comes to all the other stuff, it genuinely thinks it has to do creativity, and do love and connection and purpose and insight… when it just doesn't.
Those things happen in its absence.
The fact that it thinks it's in charge of all those things, just gets in the way. It slows us down!
- Life is the accelerator: always on.
- And then with our over-thinking and believing that we're in control of it all, we come along and start mashing down on the brake at the same time, too!
Seriously. You're not going to do any fancy stunts like that.
You're just going to wreck your transmission, or stall.

p.s. As always, I'm not asking you to take any of this at face value, or try and believe it (🚩). I'm inviting you to slow down, to be aware of your own experience (beyond the bleatings of the mind) and to get your own evidence.
