Over the holidays, I'm going to share a poem a day with you, from the peerless poet Hafiz (full name Shams-ud-din Muhammad Hafez), and explore how each one relates to the Innate Health understanding.
Hafiz was a 14th Century poet from Shiraz, Persia, who spent his life on the path to enlightenment, writing about it and incurring the wrath of the authorities (who saw his brand of wisdom blasphemous).
He writes a lot of ‘God,’ but do not let this deter you, as his God is a synonym for Innate Health.
For wisdom, for ‘true self’, intuition, the intelligence and energy of life itself – for pure love.
As such, it's what we all have dwelling at our core, when we get our ‘little mind’ or ego out of the way. (To suggest that we are God is what continued to get him into trouble!)
His poetry is so great, I can't keep it to myself. So without further ado, here's Hafiz…
WHO WANTS THOSE?
I am at a juncture now where I never have to be serious again.
If I act that way – sober and concerned about something… it is just a charade.
For people who are serious, well, let's face it… they seem to have lots of problems.
And who wants those?
~ Hafiz

Hafiz on ‘problems’
For me, this is the promise of the Innate Health understanding – because we all act serious from time to time, when we're caught up in our thinking.
