Wellbeing Wednesdays Episode #35: Relationships

“The one about… Relationships”

This month’s Wellbeing Wednesdays returned to the topic of RELATIONSHIPS, as seen from an Innate Health perspective. Hot on the heels of the MONEY episode, it’s another emotive subject and we had a slew of heart-felt member questions in, almost all of which were dealt with anonymously.

Interactions with other people are unavoidable, whether it’s in intimate relationships, family situations or the workplace, so we covered a lot of ground in this one (it clocks in at over two hours as a result)!

Here’s a run down of what’s inside:

  • Taking a different approach to relationships… one that’s been proven to work better than any other!

  • The fundamental importance of understanding the nature of ‘self’ and ‘other’

  • The difference between how we’re thinking and what we’re thinking about others

  • Parental worries about the direction our kids are going in (a.k.a. trouble with the in-laws)

  • The role of listening… and how to do it to most effect

  • Why a principles-based approach to relationships is so damned effective

  • Teasing apart rubbish jobs and rubbish thinking… isn’t negativity helpful sometimes?

  • How a simple appreciation of separate realities solves pretty much every relationship problem going

  • Insecurity—not necessarily the usual sense—as a root cause of relationship ill-behaviour

  • Having doubts about a marriage… and what to do with that

  • How to tackle perceived problems with the other person in an intimate relationship

  • Gaslighting: by an ex-husband, by ourselves and seemingly by the Innate Health understanding

  • Making sense of reality, during conflict: what’s ‘true’, what’s not, and how to tell the difference

In this deep dive into the heart of relationships, we structured the evening around the four steps I always use when helping groups and individuals to solve their problems via insight, rather than willpower:

  1. FOUNDATIONS: A fresh new approach to relationships (and everything else) that really works

  2. MECHANICS: The unchanging principles that govern our experience of relationships

  3. IMPLICATIONS: Resolving conflict by seeing that we are all living in separate realities

  4. TRUE NATURE: Protecting the separate self in relationship conflict.

Sit back, relax and listen for insight. This is a recording that might just change all of your relationships, forever.
