Not being afraid of what is not true

If something is demonstrably not true, why take it seriously? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Here at the Daily Reminders, we talk a lot about the difference between something being real, and something being true.

When it comes to our experience of life, it absolutely looks real and true and most of the time there's no incentive to even question that.

But when we're struggling, you could consider it a helpful little jab in the ribs from life, to get us to open our eyes and investigate whether that's actually the case.

And it doesn't take much scrutiny at all to discover that while our experience of life is definitely real, it's not actually true.

Which has some pretty huge implications! As I discuss in this short but powerful video clip:

You'll see I land on that beautiful quote from Syd Banks that adorns the bottom of every Daily Reminder:

β€œIf the only thing people learned was not to be afraid of their experience, that alone would change the world.”
~ Sydney Banks

This doesn't mean life’s suddenly a bed of roses and nothing bad ever happens again. Life will continue to throw all sorts of weird, unpredictable and downright unpleasant things at us, just like it has done, to date.

(You'll have noted that in the video there's still another β€˜Mountain’ at the bottom.)

Circumstances don't disappear. But once you've seen them from outside that β€˜reality’-creating thought system of yours, even briefly, they look very different indeed.

Less solid. Less set in stone. Less scary.

More open to change.

Real, just not true.

p.s. Not being able to see a way out of your problems doesn’t mean there isn’t a way, it just means, quite simply, you haven’t seen it yet. Trust me, there’s always a way!

Helping people to get out of their habitual thinking and patterns of behaviour, so that they can cope easily with whatever life throws at them, is what I do.

If you know it’s time to make a change, get in touch on the link below to let me know where you’re at and we’ll take it from there.

You have every reason to be hopeful!
