The space in which experience happens

The moment of perception *before* psychology is where the real juice of life is to be found 🐦‍⬛

Recently, I’ve been getting into feeling my way into Innate Health. Just really enjoying relaxing into the simplicity of it: that space that’s available 24/7, that the whole of our experience of life occurs within.

Call it presence, call it grace, (call it ‘bingy-bongy’ if you like 😉) – it’s the closest to reality we’ll ever get: perception before psychology.

I wrote, a while ago, about going out on a bike ride and quieting down mentally, and how nourishing that was—even for just a brief period—but we don’t need any special circumstances to do this. Life’s there the entire time, waiting for us to notice it, in all its glory!

Someone replied to that email and said,

“…just now hanging out the washing … the smell of the clean laundry, the bird song, the cobwebs on the washing line - the ‘is-ness’ of this moment, mind quietened temporarily. Good to know, right, that it's available anytime?”

Good to know, indeed 😍

That particular scenario reminded me of a clip I made years ago, from one of the first courses I ran, called De-Stress Your Life.

It was week 5, we were all relaxed, it was a lovely summer’s evening (you can hear the birds through my open window in the clip) and I was telling a random little story about an encounter with a feathered friend earlier that day, out in my back garden.

Life being totally unpredictable, it ended up veering off into an exploration of our TRUE NATURE, and me and my fellow group participants felt our way into that space, this time by looking directly at it.

I always enjoy listening to these 4 minutes myself – there’s an energy to it that’s hard to beat; more so maybe than anything else I’ve ever produced. It used to have terrible audio so I’ve remastered it and re-uploaded it for your pleasure.

I’m going to echo the words of Syd Banks here, when he says, “Don’t listen to the words, listen for a feeling,” because even though I’m pointing to that space I keep banging on about by describing it with words, if you’re trying to figure it out, you’ll miss it completely.

Headphones and a nice relaxed mind are recommended… but not mandatory, of course.

Enjoy. It’s been made with love.

p.s. the most powerful thing I’ve found to do with clients is to guide them, step by step, back to their TRUE NATURE, because it’s where we find the answers we’re looking for (even if we don’t know that’s what we’re looking for)!

So if you’re tired of pretending to be someone you know you’re not and you’d like to do something about that, I’m here to help.
