I've spoken before about my love for music. It's not for everyone (we all lie somewhere on a normal distribution curve for it, eh?) but for this little Thought System π¦ here, it's one of life's essentials. I can't recall the last time I didn't have some song or other in my head.
I can still remember the moment that a friend of mine (who's a Daily Reminders subscriber!) showed up one evening at university, put on a CD and said,
βGuys, you've got to listen to this.β
It was Brian Transeau/BT's debut, Ima, a groundbreaking progressive trance album that set me off in a very particular direction of electronic musical love, that lasts to this very day.
(I still listen to Imaβwhich means βNowβ, or δ» in Japaneseβevery time I do hard intervals on the indoor trainer π΄π»ββοΈ and, coming full circle with my musical influences, BT teamed up with one of my childhood heroes Howard Jones in 2019 to co-produce his strongest album in decades, Transform.)
I've stuck with BT throughout the yearsβhits and misses alikeβand apart from his music, I follow him on social media too, 'cos he's just an all round good guy and an inspiring, positive force in this world!
Although much of his content is music tech-geekery that goes way over my head, it's interspersed with creative tips β behind the scenes snippets of how he manages to consistently produce great music, when times are tough, or he's not feeling inspired.
He posted this, just the other day, which made me smile, as it's about as 3Ps as you can get, without actually talking about mind, consciousness and thought
π

For me, these kinds of on-the-nose observations about the human condition and the creative process provide further evidence (for my headcanon, at least) for the inside-out nature of life, allowing me to relax further into basically not knowing anything, and writing about that every day.
As well as listening to some damn fine tunes.
Trance-meets-orchestra music-smash! π₯ Sends shivers down my spine.
