12 Days of Hafiz. Day 11: A Cushion For Your Head

It might seem like ‘being present’ is hard work, but what if it's the other way round? 🔄

A CUSHION FOR YOUR HEAD
Just sit there right now
Don't do a thing
Just rest.
For your separation from God,
From love,
Is the hardest work
In this
World.
Let me bring you trays of food
And something
That you like to
Drink.
You can use my soft words
As a cushion
For your
Head.

Life's got you

Here it is, the Hafiz poem that’s not by Hafiz.

It’s certainly one of Ladinsky’s finest and has probably already lulled you into a sense of deep relaxation, but let’s see if we can peel away another layer, so it hits even harder, when you read it again.
