I'm just musing on the debacle I described in the [most recent Daily Reminder](https://www.gilespcroft.com/that-time-my-car-got-nicked/) (a piece that tickled many of you, thanks for the feedback)!

And maybe this is it? The whole thing. The fallout from a story like that, and what it's pointing to:

![](https://storage.ghost.io/c/9b/f3/9bf3d316-7d32-494b-814f-a7d94d6358c3/content/images/2026/10/Screenshot-2026-10-29-at-15.05.02.jpg)

Public Service Announcement: You are NOT the mind.

My paraphrase of this one (lest you were about to start beating yourself up):

> *“The mind is a powerful instrument. When it decides that something is true, or beyond our reach, it's very difficult to pierce through this ‘self’-created hurdle.”*

A powerful instrument indeed, thinking back to the [stolen car story](https://www.gilespcroft.com/that-time-my-car-got-nicked/).

Look what it did! Look how comprehensively it doubled down on itself.

And look what happened, as a result.

So, the question remains:

⛔

What have ‘you’—i.e. the Reader Ego Construct 📦—decided you can't do, today?

It's just a mind talking. To itself.

It doesn't have to be taken seriously.

Go be awesome.
