It’s fairly easy to see that we can’t control what other people do, or make situations change at will.

(Doesn’t stop the mind trying, though, eh? 😆)

But had you ever considered that you don’t get to choose when personal (i.e. inner) change occurs, either?

I only ask, because one of the most common reactions to a client having an insight (and things shifting considerably for them, as a result) is:

> *“Now, why didn’t I see that before?!”*

Or its bedfellow,

> *“Why has this taken me so long?!”*

Both of which, if you’re eagle-eyed have a hidden red flag in there:

> 📦🗣️ *“This should (🚩) have happened sooner.”*

But here's your Sunday ‘What if…’ to ponder.

What if… that's just a mind, observing change happening, not really understanding it, incorrectly concluding that it's been *responsible* for this change ([it really hasn’t](https://www.gilespcroft.com/habits-come-and-go/)) and then getting all het up with itself because if this change *was* its responsibility ([it really wasn’t](https://www.gilespcroft.com/i-cant-do-it/)) then it should (🚩) have done a better job?

Because if that's the case, we can safely dismiss it as more useless mind rubbish, stop [*trying*](https://www.gilespcroft.com/trying-is-lying/)to make change happen wilfully, be [grateful for the changes](https://www.gilespcroft.com/theres-nothing-wrong-with-me/) we *have* seen and relax back into the flow of life.

You know – where change is more likely to happen.
