I was working with a client and we were keeping it simple.

I love simplicity. It’s where it’s at. [Syd Banks](https://sydneybanks.com/about/?ref=gilespcroft.com) said:

I agree with Syd!

Because when we pare away all the complexity us humans have manufactured, life is very simple and very beautiful.

---

Take feeling low, for instance.

We can misinterpret that signal and go digging around in our thinking to [figure out why we’re feeling low](https://www.gilespcroft.com/laying-bricks/), how to stop feeling low and what to do about it…

…and that tends to make matters worse.

No, keep it simple.

💡

The feelings are pointing us to the fact that we’re identifying with our thought system.

Which is [a signal](https://www.gilespcroft.com/traffic-lights/) to step back. Breathe. Check back in with reality (i.e. the Now).

You don’t need to go digging around in there, or trying to fix stuff.

Keep it simple.

---

It’s a bit like the macOS SyncServices folder.

Back in the day, when I did a bit of Tech Support on the side, I used to listen to the [Mac Geek Gab](https://www.macgeekgab.com/?ref=gilespcroft.com) podcast, to stay up to date with all things Mac.

And they used to say that no matter *how* many years you’ve been doing tech support with Macs, and no matter *how* much of a Mac pro you think you are, you **NEVER** go in the macOS SyncServices folder and you **NEVER** attempt to do anything in there, to fix a problem.

**EVER.**

> *“Imagine there’s a swarm of bees in there,”* they used to say.

It’s really stuck with me.

---

So next time you get a feeling of heaviness, constriction, rushing, or fear… don’t be tempted to think about that, understand it, figure it out or try and do something to fix it.

Because that’s BEES. 🐝

No judgement, no comparison, no nothing, alright?

It's all BEES. 🐝

It’s your thought system, running like clockwork, doing everything as it should.

❤️ 📦 ❤️

It’s gently reminding you that you’ve slipped out of reality and up into a story in your head.

But if you lift the lid on it, you’ll let the bees out.
